Hetty Ethiopian Coptic Cross Necklace
This necklace was inspired by Hetty from Sue Monk Kidd's "The Invention of Wings." While reading this book, I was enthralled with the characters (some historical, some fictional) who fought for racial and gender equality with so much bravery. The night I finished reading it, I had a dream that I created a jewelry collection inspired by the women from the story. This collection was born from that dream.
The necklace features an antique Ethiopian Coptic cross pendant and vintage lariat chain.
Chain: 13" + Cross Pendant: 2.25"
“There was a time in Africa the people could fly. Mauma told me this one night when I was ten years old. . . She say they flew over trees and clouds. She say they flew like blackbirds." - The Invention of Wings
